COMPANY PROFILE Ian Burgess-Simpson Pianos has evolved over the last 14 years from being a 1-room workshop in Ian's house to the largest specialist piano business in South Africa. Four of our technicians have attended training at Steinway in Hamburg. Ian is also the only technician in the country to have been to The Steinway Academy for Concert Technicians for training with Steinway's Chief Concert Technician, Georges Amman. Only a few candidates are accepted annually from around the world to go to The Steinway Academy. With this level of expertise we rank with top international piano companies. Ian is a Registered Technician of the American Piano Technicians Guild, for which he passed examinations in Boston in 1995. Working to these rigorous standards we are established as the market leaders in all aspects of rebuilding, servicing and maintenance.
