Long term hire or hire-to-buy

Hiring is an alternative to buying a piano which allows you to test needs and use before making a more long-term commitment. We offer a few hire options, including a “Hire-to-buy” on the ES-120 digital piano.

Some factors to have in mind if considering hiring are:

  • Acoustic pianos for hire is something we no longer offer as they are quite small entry level instruments and tend to only be suitable for getting started on but would be limiting as lessons progress.

  • The digital options we offer are substantially better than any acoustic hire pianos on the market.

  • While we don’t have any limit on how long customers can hire for it’s not ideal to hire for a long period as the cost accrues and ultimately adds to what may later be spent purchasing a piano.

  • The “hire-to buy” option allows for a combination of the benefit of testing whether the process is going well and then having the initial hire costs invested in the purchase.

Digital hire or Hire-to-Buy options:

Option 1:  Kawai ES-120 digital piano, on adjustable stand with single pedal.

This is a fully portable digital piano with Bluetooth connectivity, graded hammer weighting, and exceptional touch sensitivity. As reflected in the independent reviews in the link below, this instrument is very highly rated. It is suitable for children or adults starting to play, or for advanced players where budget or portability requirements make a compact digital with the focus on piano tone and touch appropriate.

Please note: The two ES-120 options above are only available on a hire-to-buy basis, the intention being purchase of the instrument, the 3 month hire period is to allow the buyer time to decide if it’s suitable, if they want to upgrade to a different Kawai model or if they would prefer to continue hiring (in which case the instrument will be swapped out with a hire digital).
